Located in the heart of West University, this 2014 project was inspired by the client’s love for Regency-style architecture, which they admired during their time in London. The design embraces the elegance of classical proportions while offering a modern interpretation—simplifying certain details while keeping the essential symmetry and alignment that define the style.

DESIGN BRIEF
Located in the heart of West University, this 2014 project was inspired by the client’s love for Regency-style architecture, which they admired during their time in London. The design embraces the elegance of classical proportions while offering a modern interpretation—simplifying certain details while keeping the essential symmetry and alignment that define the style.
This Regency-inspired home in West University was thoughtfully designed to ensure that every room captures a view of the beautiful backyard pool and dining area. The combination of Cantera Doors steel doors on the first floor and Pella Windows on the second floor invites abundant natural light into the home while maintaining the balance of traditional elegance and modern functionality.
At the heart of the family room, a large-scale stone mantel anchors the space, creating a strong visual axis that flows seamlessly through to the dining area. The grandeur of the mantel adds a sense of stateliness to the room, creating a dynamic focal point that’s both visually commanding and warmly inviting.
The symmetry of the space is further emphasized with the matching single fixed steel doors flanking the fireplace. These doors, part of the custom design, echo the paired fixed doors across the front elevation. This strategic placement floods the home with natural light while enhancing the classical feel of the Regency style.
A Clean, Timeless Kitchen
For the kitchen, the goal was to strike a balance between traditional design and modern minimalism. Working alongside Reagan Miller, we carefully simplified certain details to allow the finishes and fixtures to take center stage. A standout feature of the space is the oversized kitchen island, which is covered with a single, special slab of stone that creates a stunning focal point in the heart of the home.
