A major renovation and update for this 1970 home. We were able to enlarge and reorient the kitchen to allow for a generous island. The kitchen now has a direct connection to both the family room and new breakfast room.

DESIGN BRIEF
A major renovation and update for this 1970 home. We were able to enlarge and reorient the kitchen to allow for a generous island. The kitchen now has a direct connection to both the family room and new breakfast room.
A light and bright family room created by removing an old fireplace and adding windows to the patio and pool area. A large, cased opening was created between the kitchen and family room to connect the spaces and help bring light into the interior kitchen.
Detail of new library shelves built around an existing cased opening as a beautiful accent wall in a cozy library/sitting room. The main stairs can be seen beyond in the updated private hall to the second floor.
By adding a new entry foyer to the building, we were able to improve flow and enter into the heart of the home rather than at the foot of the stairs as before. An existing widow was converted to a cased opening adjacent to the fireplace to provide access to the library in addition to the family room upon entry.
